Introduction: Although the new crown epidemic has had a significant impact on the economy, e-commerce in Vietnam will still grow by 15% in 2020, with revenue reaching 13.2 billion U.S. dollars.
Many analysts claimed that Vietnam’s e-commerce will continue to grow in 2021. At the meeting held on April 20, the 2021 Vietnam E-commerce Index was also announced.

Several experts predict that Vietnam's e-commerce will develop rapidly from 2021 to 2025, with a compound annual growth rate of 29%, and Vietnam's digital economy will reach US$52 billion by 2025.
The latest report on the 2021 Vietnam E-commerce Index released by the National Electronic Commerce Association (VECOM) pointed out that in 2020, Vietnam’s e-commerce sales reached 13.2 billion U.S. dollars.
Previously, according to VECOM data, the Vietnamese e-commerce market has grown from US$4 billion in 2015 to US$11.5 billion in 2019.
By 2020, enterprises will become more and more active and can adapt to online businesses, and online consumption will grow faster than ever. This also explains why the Vietnamese e-commerce market has grown so amazingly.
The report pointed out that among the fastest-growing market segments, the growth toxins of the following markets are more concerned ↓
Online retail sales (+46%), carpooling and food shopping (+34%), online marketing, entertainment and games (+18%).
While the e-commerce market continues to grow, Vietnam's logistics industry also grows strongly.
According to Jones Lang LaSalle’s forecast for the future of Vietnam’s warehousing-related logistics industry, the logistics of the domestic market’s supply chain will grow faster and faster with the development of e-commerce.
Despite the short-term impact of the COVID-19 epidemic, Jones Lang LaSalle’s Asia Pacific Logistics Report shows that the main trend for investors is still the logistics industry.
The growth of e-commerce in Vietnam has also led to high demand for logistics warehouses. It is estimated that the logistics space for e-commerce in Vietnam will be three times larger than it is now. At present, the total warehouse area in Vietnam is about 4 million square meters, of which 880,000 square meters are in the north and 3,303,300 square meters in the south.
